We all have Mental Health and sometimes we may need additional support and help with this. One thing we all need to do is raise awareness and reduce the stigma that surrounds some mental health issues.
Next week (5th to 11th February) is Mental Health Awareness week and Friday is the Northamptonshire Mental Health Awareness day. Once again Sponne School will be supporting this by getting involved in raising awareness in our assemblies and a balloon launch. Recently Tessa Parkinson from ‘Talk Out Loud’ came to deliver our resources for the awareness day, including wristbands, leaflets and activities for Yr11 students.
This years’ information booklet was produced by young people in the County through the Mental Health Stigma Participation Group which includes some of our students – Eden Leach (Yr9), Eleanor Rees (Yr13), Elaina Falvey (Yr11) and Isobel Farwell (Yr10). The booklet is called ‘All I Ask’ and is suitable for students and parents and copies can be downloaded from the website: http://www.talkoutloud.info/information.aspx
