Thursday the 12th of July the whole of Year 8 were off timetable. In tutor times we had been working on enterprise skills such as thinking about what it meant, looking at presentations and evaluating their success and brainstorming ideas. Each form was split into groups who then had to come up with a product to pitch to our Business Dragons. The teams were expected to plan, market, price and pitch for their product. I got the wonderful opportunity to go round and to talk to all of the groups about their ideas and I can honestly say I was impressed with how they worked – the
On Saturday 16th of June I took part in the Rotary Club Young Designer Competition final at De Monfort University. It was an amazing experience with the chance to see wonderful designs from GCSE and A Level students from all over the district.
We arrived at the venue at 8:00AM and we were all allocated a table where we set up our exhibits, I added my sauces to my sauce caddies and put up my display board. We were then given time ,while other people were arriving, to have a look at the other exhibits in the competition. There were 3D models of wedding venues, a Mary
On the 19th of June, a group of Year 8 girls went to the University of Northampton for a “Women in Engineering” day. It was a very successful day which started with a talk from one of the organisers. We then visited a variety of local engineers by visiting lots of stalls all showing what they do and how they use both science and engineering. This included a robot that could move on its own and even sit down. There was a man called Cosmic Chris as well as people from the Army, some engineers who look at how to stem canal banks and we got a chance to test out some virtual reality

Yr 8 jazz and soloists performed again as part of the Midsummer Music Festival on Saturday 23rd June in the town hall.

Well done to Freya Savage on winning the U16 female English Indoor Boardercross comp. Even against the strong competition, she raced hard and fast, winning 5 of the 6 races.
Myself and Ms Turton are very proud of all our Y11 Artists; they have all worked very hard to produce a big body of Art work. There is a lot of hours that go into the Art GCSE and this means all of our students have had to be very dedicated and enthusiastic to use a lot of their spare time completing the work. The work this year is of a high standard and we are hoping the grades will match this. The sketchbooks are comprehensive and show the journey the students have taken to arrive at their final pieces. We wish them all the very best for whatever they decide to do in
