Just after half term, 16 of our students across years 7-10 participated in the Winter School Games. All students were involved in extremely intense and demanding races ranging for 2 minutes for year 7s through to 6 minutes for year 10 as well as completing in a team relay over 2017m.
Year 7 and 8 boys (Jeremy Gundle, Harry Pannell, Will Deamer and Lucas Sanger) finished 8th overall , with a particularly notable performance form Jeremy Gundle who was county runner up in the individual race by a mere 2m!
Year 7 and 8 Girls (lily Jeffry, Hermione Gilchrist, Poppy Waldron and Emily Hinton) finished 3rd overall with Lily Jeffry becoming individual county champion.
Year 9 and 10 boys (Kody Johnson, McKenzie Kerns, Finn Tyson and Alex Pluck) battled to an excellent 3rd place overall against the giants of NSB and Wollaston.
The highest accolade goes to the year 9 and 10 girls team who became county champions with Anna woodman finishing 1st individual, Bella Taylor 5th, Sophie Jeffry 3rd and Emelia Reeve 6th overall. The teamwork and organisation that these girls showed in the final relay was remarkable, ably led by Emilia Reeve, finishing a full 25 seconds ahead of the nearest rival!
Congratulations to all.
