We are very lucky at Sponne School to have a Parents and Friends Association which has been operating since 1982. The PFA is a registered charity with the sole aim to raise funds for the school. Its members are a mix of parents, carers and teachers.

Despite the pandemic, the PFA has donated over £28000 to the school in the last 5 years.

The money raised has been used to buy key equipment that the school needs, like the school minibus; outdoor benches; gym equipment and a full drum set. Other items are not so easy to see such as helping with sponsoring events such as drug awareness workshops and paying for famous authors to come to Sponne and inspire a new generation of writers. The student council is involved in the decision making in how to spend the funds available.

PFA members normally meet once per month, the meetings are held at Sponne or online.

Wreath Making Workshop

Wow! What an amazing evening we had at the Wreath Making Workshop on Tuesday 28th November. Thank you to everyone who turned up and got into the festive spirit. As a result of your support we have raised over £700 to add to the Sponne Minibus fund!!

A special thanks to Davey at Harefields Cidery & Events for donating the use of his lovely bar for the evening, and going above and beyond to help us put up decorations and prepare the barn for event.

Thank you also to Wappenham Farm for donating a Christmas Tree for us to use on the night.

Thank you to Waitrose for donating mince pies.

And finally a massive thanks to Ella Toms for all her hard work organising, preparing and running the event itself. I think we all agree you did an amazing job! Thank you also to Mrs Perks and the PFA team who helped out with foraging and helping on the night.
