The LRC (library) is open every day between 8:00am and 4:30pm
It provides a classroom space for lessons and an IT area with 17 computers. With comfy seating and further study desks, we can accommodate about 100 students.
Year 7 and 8 students have regular library lessons as part of the English curriculum. We use the Accelerated Reader scheme to encourage and monitor students’ progress. Reading is further supported through a Sixth Form Mentor scheme. Reading for pleasure is promoted through various events throughout the year.
Learning Mentoring and Careers advice is also available in the LRC.
The LRC is available for use by Sixth Form students for private study. All students are encouraged to access the LRC and borrow from its extensive range of books and magazines.
Students are welcome to make use of the LRC during non-structured times for homework, reading or quiet social time.
