Sponne Students celebrate Exam Success!
Students and staff at Sponne School in Towcester are celebrating another excellent set of A Level results this year with many individuals achieving outstanding grades. The success of this cohort reflects their hard work, effort and dedication of the past two years. These superb results will mean that they have the best possible academic foundation for university / apprenticeship or employment going forward.
Amongst the many delighted students today were Will Tollervey (A*A*A*A*) who will be going to the University of Cambridge to study Engineering. Sam Wood (A*A*A*A), Lucy Cutler (A*A*A), Thea Bates (AAAA) Nadia Ribeiro (AAB) and Annabelle Ross (A*AB) are all heading to the University of Bristol to study Maths, Chemistry, Veterinary Science, Psychology & Neuroscience and Law respectively.
Heading north are Marianne Buckley (AABB), Ewan Cameron (AAAB), Tamsin Riley (AAB) and Annie Wilkes (A Dist*B) to the University of Liverpool, Cumbria, Manchester Met and Leeds Beckett to study Biological Sciences, Ecology & Wildlife Conservation, Physiotherapy and Music Business respectively.
Daniel Bickerdike (A*ABDist*) and Monty Smith (AAB) are going to King’s College and Bath University respectively to study Physics and Theoretical Physics and Jacob O’Mahoney (A*ABB) also continues further studies in the field of Physics. Dylan Searle-Leatherland is destined for UEA to study English Literature and History. Similarly, Hayden Firth (AAC) continues to study English Literature at Warwick University whilst Jovin San (A*AB) will be studying Chemical Engineering.
Dylan Mander (A*AA) and Georgie Wright (ADist* BC) are remaining more local, reading Sports and Exercise Science and Forensic Science at Loughborough and De Montfort universities. Austin Richardson (AAA) and Darwin Hendry (AAA) are among many other students who have secured outstanding results and are exploring a range of alternative post-18 pathways.
This year has also seen several students successfully gaining highly competitive degree apprenticeships in the following areas: Stephanie Caldecourt (chemical engineering at EDF), Morgan Lindley (Accountancy), and Sam Bodily (Cadilac). We are very proud of all our students and what they have achieved.
Headteacher Mr Graham Forbes said: “We are immensely proud of our students for achieving such excellent results across both A Level and vocational qualifications. These grades are a testament to the dedication and determination our students have shown, alongside the outstanding teaching and support provided by the staff here at Sponne School.
Year 13 not only excelled academically but also demonstrated exceptional talent and commitment beyond the classroom, contributing to sport, music, drama, and many other areas of school life. They were a year group whose positive influence was felt throughout the school, serving as superb role models for our younger students.
The diverse range of courses and destinations our students are now pursuing truly reflects our school ethos: Dream, Believe, Achieve. The varied interests and aspirations of individual students have often been complemented by extensive enrichment opportunities.We congratulate all our students on their success and wish them every happiness in the future”.
