Impact food group's menus offer a wide range of choices from sandwiches and wraps, pizzas and paninis to our popular Chef’s roast of the day with Yorkshire puddings, fresh vegetables and roast potatoes. All are offered with a choice of hot and cold desserts, fresh fruit pots, various fruit, jellies and yoghurts.
Please find brief details on how the Free School Meals (FSM) work at Sponne School.
- All FSM’s are loaded onto individual’s accounts everyday however this will not show if you or your child looks at their current balance. It is all done in the background.
- It is important that you explain to your child that although they may not see money on their account they can get food everyday as the till will recognise that the food is to be taken out as a FSM. Please do encourage them to use their allowance in the canteen every day.
Your child's daily free school meal allowance stands at £2.61 per day, and we want to highlight the fantastic range of delicious and nutritious options available within this allowance. For £2.55, students can enjoy any of the following satisfying meal deals at either break one at 11.10 am, or break two at 1.30 pm:
- Main meal deal (offering a variety of daily specials) * available at break two
- Hearty jacket potato meal deal available at break one and two
- A selection of four chilled items (chill / cold sub deal) available at break one and two
- Wholesome pasta pot meal deal available at break one and two
- Filling sub roll meal deal available at break two
- Fresh and vibrant salad bar meal deal available at break two
* Please note that while our popular daily Streetvibe, daily Panini and Friday chicken options are not part of the main meal deal, they can still be purchased separately. Students can find and check their prices clearly displayed in the canteen.
Each of our meal deals includes a bottle of water or a choice of a tasty meal deal dessert or a freshly baked treat, ensuring a balanced and satisfying meal.
We strongly encourage students to take advantage of these meal deal options, as they represent excellent nutritional value within the daily allowance.
The £2.61 can also be used towards any individually priced items available in the canteen at both break times, with all menu prices clearly displayed in the canteen for your student. It is important to note that they will not be able to purchase individual items if they amount to more than the allowance available to them.
We are also particularly pleased to remind you of the ability to roll over any unused daily allowance within the same week. This means that if your child doesn't spend the full £2.61 on a particular day, the remaining balance will automatically carry over and can be used on subsequent days within that same week. This provides greater flexibility for students to perhaps choose a slightly more expensive item later in the week or save up for an extra treat. Please note that the allowance will reset at the end of each week.
- Once they have chosen their meal students will go to the tills and use their fingerprint/pin as normal.

- FSM can be used at both break and lunchtime. Adequate funds should be on their account to purchase these items otherwise they will be refused. Funds can be added via TSCO Scopay to your child’s catering account for this purpose.
- The process for paying is the same whether a child has FSM or not so the system is discreet.
All students have the opportunity to enjoy a free and nutritious breakfast every morning from 8:00 am. This includes a choice of warming porridge or cereal – a fantastic way for every student to start their day.
