Sixth Form - Stowe School's Media Conference Visit

Sponne students were very kindly invited to attend Stowe's annual media conference focusing on The Atomic Age hosted by Dr Andrew Webber. They experienced screenings of When The Wind Blows and the War Game. The students found it a very moving and melancholy subject to delve into, and helped develop ideas and theories for their media studies going forward. They also were invited to be part of the grand jury for the Stowe Oscars, where the A level film students presented their short films and they were able to vote for the best production, director, editor and performance. Our students impressed the Stowe staff so much they are invited to perform and showcase their talents using the wonderful Stowe facilities in the future. A great networking opportunity for our sixth formers.

World Book Day

World Book day was on 6th March and we celebrated it with a week of assemblies. Our student led reading group, the Reading Revolutionaries, prepared and delivered these assemblies each day to around 800 of our students on different days. They did an incredible job of promoting a love of reading here at Sponne. Well done to all involved.

IFG COTY2025 competition

Ghyslain Pramayon, Executive Chef at Sponne School was awarded third place in our recent IFG COTY2025 competition.

Ghyslain wowed the judges with his mouth-watering menu, featuring Potato Gnocchi with Chorizo & Peas, followed by a delicious Peach Melba Cheesecake for dessert.

The feedback from judge, Alex Hall, was high praise indeed: “The gnocchi was wonderfully executed—light and pillowy, served in a deliciously sweet chorizo sauce. The perfectly poached peach, paired with a creamy cheesecake, was a beautiful combination, and it was a fantastic way to incorporate 50% fruit into a dish that kids would absolutely enjoy."
