From Friday 18th - Monday 21st October eight Sponne students took part in the National Schools Equestrian Association Championships. Qualifying for Nationals to compete against hundreds of other schools at Addington Manor, the squad excelled themselves in achieving both team and individual national reserve champion titles.
Seven of the students qualified in the show jumping regional points league and came 2nd in the national finals at the first time of qualifying, jumping 7 rounds of show jumps over 4 different heights. The show jumping teams also came 5th in the Novice show jumping championship and 11th in the Intermediate championships. Congratulations to Ava P, Annabelle R, Alice A, Olivia W, Tilly W, Grace W, Evie M & Indie L who survived some dreadful weather and each jumped their very best rounds, some personal highest ever courses ridden. Congratulations to year 7 Tilly in her first competition for Sponne.
Additionally, the Individual National Reserve champion went to Annabelle R in the combined training championship, successfully competing in dressage and show jumping.
These results are incredible and an amazing achievement at such a high standard of competition. Well done to everyone for all the hard work and team spirit to secure these results for Sponne.
