Last week a group of sixth form students, including our 2 wellbeing lead prefects, attended a conference which explored understanding mental health on a deeper level. We were lucky enough to hear from various speakers including psychologists and Dr Mike Scanlan on the topic. Speakers from a variety of charities were also present including The Frank Bruno Trust, Lowdown and Samaritans who explored ideas to help with our own and others mental health issues as well as hearing first hand from those who have come through mental health crises. The day was finished off with some practical and interactive elements, with a very close 3rd place for Harry and Max on the boxing challenge!
Students were an absolute credit. They will now be thinking of ways we can enhance the support in school for students, from what they learnt.
